Our Team
|
Our seven-member team brings a combined professional experience of nearly 90
years to the practice. The staff obviously have fun
and enjoy what they do. They have developed a camaraderie
over the years that patients recognize immediately. Chairside assistants Lauri and Janice have been with Dr. Potter for more than 50 years combined.
Pam
the office manager and Laura the appointment secretary
are the friendly voices on the phone and friendly faces
that greet patients. They make patients feel special
from the first time they call to the completion of their
treatment. Hygienists Sandy and Lynda provide gentle,
thorough hygiene treatment using state-of-the-art sterilization
techniques and equipment. Dr. Florence's chairside assistant is Jennifer who graduated from Cedar Hill. The entire
staff develop close relationships with patients that
reflect the caring, small-town personality of the practice.
Dr. Potter offers one illustration of their dedication
-"Without anyone saying a word, my staff has even
been known to pick up a patient who was unable to drive
in order to help them
to get to their appointment."
"The patient-centered approach
of our staff is an important factor in our success.
We all try to treat people the way we would want to
be treated, and as individuals with unique needs. I
think that's why our patients keep coming back to us.
Some return to us even after they've moved, or after
their insurance changes. We are very flattered by their
loyalty, and we work to earn their trust in us every
time they visit." Our patients are appreciative
of the personal care they receive and have expressed
their gratitude in creative ways. One patient even showed
up with banana splits for the whole office. |

Extreme Makeover
In 2003, experts called on Dr. Potter when plastic surgeon Dr. John Standefer planned an Extreme Makeover for a 47-year-old female patient. The makeover procedures, which included creating 20 crowns and removable partial dentures, took place over four months from May until August. The dramatic "reveal" was aired on television Channel 33 in November of 2003, as part of their "Make Me Over" series. The makeover was also featured on Dr. Paul Hamilton's talk radio program "Doc Shop" on 105.3 FM.
Dr. Potter remembers the striking results, and the patient's remarkable transformation from timid and shy to open and confident. "When she first came into the studio for the premakeover recording, she was anxious and very quiet. After the makeover was complete, she just beamed with confidence and seemed completely relaxed. She described the makeover as having changed her life. It's very rewarding to be part of something like that." |
